The Pursuit of Happiness

Happiness defines destiny. Yes, if you're happy, you can over come the impasse and achieve what you want to. Simple, yet highly effective formula for success. Exam pressure, job interview, first date stress and so forth, a happy state of being is the ideal state of mind. Following a bandwagon, we tend to create claustrophobic conditions in our mind, i.e. jammed enough to absorb positivity. Hence, pessimism is released, taking a toll. Be it a regular day's checklist, everything is jotted down in perfect order. But we tend to miss out on 'Being Happy'. Productivity is enhanced to superlative levels, if their is a state of calmness. Happiness is each to its own, very subjective indeed.
What makes me 'Happy' :-
  • Humility- My teacher who addressed me as 'Ma'am'. If you want to know what a man's like, take a look at how good he treats his inferiors, not his equals. Definitely,by not being a condescendent. Being humble is a state of mind rather than an act of display. It is beyond words and expressions, it displays character. Being respected makes me want to respect naturally. Equations change, perception changes and therefore happiness walks in.
  • Moment of the day- I love my glass of morning cold coffee, it is the most languorous time. Besides relishing every sip of it, a surreal energy flows down my body. Suddenly, a refresh restart and definitely a bliss during exam time. It is my moment of the day and a way of rejuvenating besides a phone call to people I love. Needless of expression and beyond delineation.
  • A Simple Act of Care- People require demonstration and not just words and feelings. Communication is obscure unless a feedback is received. So constant, conveying and reinforcement is required in any relationship. Even a  gesture like a  pat on your dogs back surely means the world.
  • Self Talk- It is not psychotic to indulge in self talking. Infact, this could possibly be your power move for the day. Looking back at things in retrospect could enlarge the future. Learning is a constant and needs to be a daily chore. I retort to a lot of self talk, it gives me strength, resilience and patience. Indeed, motivation to be a better person each day.
  • Family Time- It symbolizes protectiveness to me. A benign smile on my mothers face means life is good. My fathers voice, makes me feel safer. House is where heart lies and there is no house without family.
  • Daily Shenanigans-  Growing up is an undeniable truth but everyone has a child deep within. I ensure that, that child comes out frivolous and effervescently each day. Reliving childhood is like letting out and cleansing yourself.
  • Praying- Prayer is not a commodity that you'll pull out when it trouble. It needs to be a constant practice throughout life. We've remembered god in the worst of times and been oblivious in the happiest moments. Selective approach at ones discretion works only in theory, not practicality. Praying makes not just your day, but life holistic.
A simple checklist is ready for a perfect day everyday. There could be so much more to it.  It is not about time, it is about moments. We tend to forget the basics while striving for perfection. Think about all your fiasco's of life and what was it that made you come out it. That's it. Do it daily. If there is black, there is white, if we take a step forward, one leg is always left behind. 365 days cannot be the same. Go all out for pursuing happiness and success will touch your footsteps.

God helps those who help themselves.
